Online toddler games can be fun ways to relax with your child, as well as an effortless way to help your child learn key skills (like number and letter recognition) for school. Here are a few tips to help you find the best online toddler games.
There are plenty for free - Online toddler games are plentiful online, and there's no need to pay. Tell your family members this, too, so they don't go out and spend a bunch of money on games that aren't really needed.
Go with favorite characters - A great way to find an online toddler game that your child will enjoy is to look up the website for his favorite character. If he's a big fan of "Thomas", then look on the PBSKids website and explore all the "Thomas" related information together. This is a wonderful way to find exactly what will tickle your child.
Don't rule out music videos - Although online toddler games are fun, there are many toddler-appropriate music videos on most of the entertainment sites, too. If your toddler is still learning the basics of computers, consider setting her up to watch a favorite video. A wonderful place to start with a wide variety of videos is on the Noggin website, where "Jack's Big Music Show" has tons of great videos.
Tip: I find that a favorite music video is, hands down, the best way to calm down a crabby toddler. Many of the tunes are also available on i-Tunes, which can also make calming down in the car much, much easier.
Get ready to repeat, repeat, repeat - Toddler learning happens with repetition. Be ready to play the same game or the same video over until you can't stand it. We've played the Barbie babysitting game online so many times that I've lost count, but it's been fun each and every time. Just take a deep breath and play the game again, and remember that after all it's not your computer time.
